VACCINES AND DISEASES: KNOWLEDGE IS PREVENTION
There are no particular endemic diseases,
however, tuberculosis and hepatitis A and B are widespread. We recommend at
least a cursory analysis about your physical condition, as well as a self
examination. The main health risks are the diseases transmitted by food and water.
Ask for the free brochures which are distributed by the ASL and contact your
doctor before embarking on the journey. No need for specific vaccinations,
although randomly occurring cases of Meningococcal meningitis and sometimes
malaria (up recently) among the local population, rare cases of infected
tourists (because of precautions). If you use the "pill", because of
the potential contraindications with antibiotics. In addition, because of
climate change, the pill may have only small effect.
IMMUNIZATIONS
We recommend, after consulting a doctor,
vaccinations against tetanus and polio. We also recommend the following
vaccinations (depending on the condition of health of travelers and behind
medical opinion): diphtheria, typhoid fever, hepatitis A and B, meningitis. For
areas of Yunnan and Hainan Island, such as the provinces of Guangxi and
Guizhou, the vaccine against Japanese encephalitis is recommended if staying in
rural areas. For such vaccination is always good to consult your doctor before
starting to evaluate the opportunity, given the real risk of anaphylactic shock
and possible side effects. If you are coming from countries with endemic yellow
fever must be shown to have maintained its vaccine. Officially, no vaccinations
are required for China, some advice below: Hepatitis (A + B) Recommended
generally vaccination in case of prolonged stay in the subtropics. Hepatitis A
is contagious through liquids and food, hepatitis B through blood and other
body fluids. Vaccination with Gamma Globulin protects for about 4-6 months
Typhoid. Vaccination against typhoid should be evaluated with the doctor, as it
is not very effective. Tetanus to consider, protects against infection from
cuts, wounds! Polio recommended, a reminder should suffice. Malaria, there is a
slight risk in the summer months in the southern regions. A good protection is
achieved with the dress covered antinseptic spray and mosquito nets.
Immunization is difficult, as most of the viruses are immunized against
vaccines.
INSURANCE
We strongly recommend you take out travel
insurance before leaving, and for those who participate in our travels is
always required. Hospital or Medical expenses for travelers abroad may soon
reach high figures in China. Spend some money first to have no worries after in
this case is very wise. The insurance coverage you might need for the
reimbursement of medical expenses, damage to baggage, emergency (to be
considered especially for travel sports and / or in remote areas) and the
cancellation of the trip.
It is recommended to make a note of the
insurance emergency contact/customer service and keep them with you, and leave
one copy to us in case of emergencies. However we hope to never need!
